Baerlaghof in Issum

5 stars for its decor, which is very rustic, location and farmhouse food offerings. The place is a converted barn and offers hefty German food choices as well as cakes. The portions are huge. During the summer, the two beer gardens invite patrons to a secluded area in which to enjoy good food and company. Why only 2 stars? Well, because the portions are so big, we could not finish our cakes and had one piece left over which we wanted to take home. This resulted into a 10 minutes condescending beratement by the waitress why they would not want to do this: because of non existing wrapping paper, take away boxes, prices, other patrons and God knows what other excuses she rambled on about. I guess she loves listening to herself. She ruined the whole visit.

We ate very well. The service was perfect. The ambience is wonderful. Dogs are welcome and are served water.

Incredibly delicious cake in a great atmosphere (especially beautiful courtyard). Vegetarian main courses are also available. So really something for everyone and the service is always friendly!

Beautifully situated excursion destination, especially for riders. Horse meadow and tie bars are available, and water for drinking is provided. The food is very tasty and the cakes are homemade

There are always delicious cakes in "sufficient size". But the food there is also recommended.

Due to corona, no seat cushions may be placed on the wooden chairs. According to the kitchen, the portions of the food cannot be changed

Wonderful excursion restaurant in the middle of nature. Matching rustic ambience inside. There are two terraces. One at the entrance and another in the back of the yard. Everything is very clean. The staff is helpful, friendly and quick. The food offers very good home-style cooking and tastes like mother's at home 😁. The cakes looked delicious too. The toilets are well-kept and hygienically perfect. The funny thing was that there is a meadow for the animals for horse owners who go on a riding excursion. The price / performance ratio is right. Absolutely to be recommended by us. P.s. They happily packed the leftover portions of our food to take away. Simply great.

You are warmly welcomed at the entrance and assigned to a table at which there is sufficient distance from the other guests. Delicious food. We are happy to come back anytime. Top!
